About RYZE Golf
RYZE Golf is a free, independent golf platform built for recreational golfers. We publish original research and honest analysis grounded in real course data — and we give you the tools to apply that knowledge to your own game.
Our Mission
Golf should be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. RYZE Golf was built with a simple goal: give every golfer — from beginner to scratch — easy access to accurate course information, a platform to share their experiences, and the tools to improve their game.
We're a small, independent project maintained by a single developer and a growing community of golf enthusiasts who help keep course data accurate and up to date.
Our Course Data
The RYZE Golf database contains information on over 20,000 golf courses worldwide, including:
- Hole-by-hole scorecards (par, handicap, and yardage)
- Multiple tee box options (Championship, Men's, Women's, and more)
- Slope ratings and course ratings per tee
- Course address, phone, and website
- Interactive map location
- User-submitted photos and round scores
Our data is continuously improved by our community. If you notice missing or incorrect information, you can submit a course update directly from any course page. All updates are reviewed before going live.
How We Collect and Verify Course Data
RYZE Golf does not aggregate or scrape data indiscriminately. Our course records are built from a combination of sources and then verified through a structured review process before being published:
- Slope and course ratings are sourced from official USGA and authorized regional golf association records. These numbers are the same values printed on physical scorecards issued by the course and are not editorially assigned.
- Scorecard data (hole-by-hole par, handicap allocation, and yardages) is cross-referenced against course-published scorecards wherever available. Users who submit scorecard corrections are required to cite their source.
- Community updates go through an admin review queue before being applied. We do not allow anonymous edits to slope ratings or official course ratings — those fields require source documentation.
- Community ratings and likes reflect genuine user engagement only. We do not accept sponsored placements or paid rankings. A course appears highly ranked on our leaderboard because real golfers liked it — nothing else.
We make no claim that our database is error-free — 20,000+ courses is a large dataset and some records may be out of date. If you find an error, please use the course update form and we will review it promptly.
Our Editorial Approach
The articles and guides published on RYZE Golf are written for recreational golfers — specifically players in the 10–25 handicap range who want practical, honest information rather than tour-level theory or commercially motivated advice.
Every article is grounded in one of three things: the mathematics of the handicap system (which is fixed and verifiable), patterns in our course database (slope ratings, course ratings, and regional data we have direct access to), or established principles that the golfing research community and the USGA consistently validate. We do not publish speculative swing tips or equipment reviews. Where we make claims that can be checked — like average handicap index distributions or the USGA Tee It Forward yardage guidelines — we cite the original source.
No course or brand pays to appear in our content. No article is written to drive affiliate revenue. Our only goal is to help you make better decisions on the course.
